Before you begin, ensure you have Formidable Forms installed and activated on your WordPress site. You will also need the User Registration add-on, which is available in the Formidable Forms Business or Elite plan.

Steps to Install Formidable Forms:

  1. Navigate to Plugins > Add New in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Search for “Formidable Forms” and install the plugin.
  3. Activate the plugin and enter your license key.
  4. Install the User Registration add-on by going to Formidable > Add-ons and activating it.

Step 2: Create a User Registration Form

Now that Formidable Forms is installed, you can create your custom user registration form.

Steps to Create a Registration Form:

  1. Go to Formidable > Forms and click Add New.
  2. Select User Registration Form from the available templates.
  3. Customize the form fields as needed. Common fields include:
    • Username
    • Email Address
    • Password
    • First Name & Last Name
    • Profile Picture (optional)
  4. Drag and drop any additional fields you need.
  5. Click Update to save the form.

Step 3: Configure User Registration Settings

Once your form is created, you need to configure the user registration settings to ensure new users are added to your site.

Steps to Set Up User Registration Actions:

  1. Open your registration form and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Click Actions & Notifications and add a new Register User action.
  3. Map the form fields to WordPress user fields (e.g., Email field to WordPress Email, Username to Username, etc.).
  4. Choose the default user role (e.g., Subscriber, Contributor, Author, etc.).
  5. Enable Email Confirmation if you want users to verify their email before activation.
  6. Save your changes.
